Lowly Padres play like eager Beavers

SAN DIEGO — Looking decidedly like the Triple-A Portland Beavers, the San Diego Padres came up with a nifty big league result Tuesday night, beating the Florida Marlins 10-1 to snap a nine-game home losing streak. Rookie Chase Headley, playing in his 20th big league game this season, had his best performance yet with three hits and four RBIs, including a three-run double. Scott Hairston had a two-run homer among his three hits and Randy Wolf snapped a four-game losing streak, combining with two relievers on a six-hitter. Before the game, the Padres brought up three more players from Portland, giving them five in the starting lineup who played for the Beavers at some point this season.
