Britain is expected to give its best performance at an Olympics since 1920, according to sports officials. UK Sport said Wednesday that British athletes should win 35 of the 41 medals they have targeted in Beijing, which would leave the team a projected eighth in the medals table. That haul should include about 10 gold medals, lifting Britain two spots from its placing in Athens four years ago and representing the best medal performance at an unboycotted Games since 1920.
