CLINTON —The Clinton LumberKings pounded the Quad Cities River Bandits 17-5 Monday, as they out hit their rivals 26-10. This was the most runs scored by the LumberKings since May 15, 2006 when they beat the Cedar Rapids Kernels 18-16. Fabio Castillo was scheduled to make his start but the Texas Rangers made a move that sent Michael Kirkman back to the LumberKings from Spokane. This is Kirkman’s second tour of duty with the club this season. Kirkman got a 1-2-3 inning to start off the game. Then came the fireworks of the LumberKing offense. Engel Beltre led off the explosion with a single to left. Matt Lawson singled to center moving runners to first and second. Mitch Moreland singled to center to start the scoring by plating Beltre.
