Washington Post Staff Writer Fourth of July revelers who park along the George Washington Memorial Parkway to catch the fireworks will be ticketed or towed, authorities said today. In past years, workers placed plastic fencing along the parkway that would leave about a car-width of space, which many drivers grabbed for convenient nighttime parking. Now the fencing will extend to the road's edge Sal Lauro, acting assistant chief of the U.S. Park Police, said a series of near accidents with pedestrians in previous years forced a change. "Every year it gets worse," Lauro said. "We'd rather not have to have someone struck to put in a plan."
