THE Melbourne pizza shop that put the fat in Fat Tony and the belly into Underbelly has been sold out from under Tony Mokbel. Boronia Pizza fetched $540,000 yesterday after being seized from Mokbel in May under proceeds of crime laws. But, while replaced on the title, the accused killer will live on on the menu - in the Tony's Special (No 15). The proprietor, who asked not to be named, said the tomato, cheese, bacon, beef, onions and egg pizza was popular, not least with Mokbel himself. He said he fed it to Mokbel, his landlord of 10 years, during a rare inspection visit. "He liked it. A lot of people like it," he said. Mokbel bought the shop about 20 years ago, ran it at first then kept it as an investment. Auctioneer Ben Cooper did not detail the shop's past yesterday, but might have hinted at it.
