L-R Shane Simpson, Carole James and Lois Boone Prince George, B.C. – Provincial New Democratic Leader, Carole James, School District# 57 Trustee, Lois Boone and New Democratic Environment Critic, Shane Simpson gathered at Parkhill Centre today to talk about the 2.4 cent a litre gas tax that comes into effect July 1, 2008. Lois Boone is concerned about the impact the tax will have on School District #57 “Next year we are anticipating that the cost of our fleet vehicles and utilities to heat our schools will be $80,000. That increases to almost a quarter of a million dollars once the tax is implemented. That is money we don’t get back, we cannot tax anyone to get it back and we don’t get rebates.
