Associated Press MUSKEGON, Mich. -- Ashlee Baracy of Westland has been named Miss Michigan 2008. Baracy, 23, won more than $11,000 in scholarships and other prizes on Saturday night before a crowd of about 1,400 Saturday at Muskegon's Frauenthal Theater. Baracy, who represented Wayne County this year, is a graduate of the University of Michigan and currently a graduate student at Eastern Michigan University. The Muskegon Chronicle says she has competed three times in state pageant, finishing as second runner-up in 2007 and as fourth runner-up in 2006. Baracy also won Wednesday's preliminary swimsuit award. "I'm so humbled and honored," Baracy said.
