Linda Nguyen , Canwest News Service Published: Monday, June 09, 2008 A 55-year-old man is dead after a small plane experienced landing problems and crashed at the Springbank airport near Calgary Monday. The two-seater white plane crashed into a gully between two runways at the small airport, located about 25 kilometres from Calgary, just after 10 a.m. local time, according to Jory Jenson, a station officer for Cochrane Emergency Medical Services. The EMS dispatch centre received a call about a confirmed plane crash at 10:17 a.m. Two ambulances were dispatched to the airport, mainly used by flight schools and as an alternative to the Calgary airport.
