Air India employees begin strike despite stern warning
New Delhi/Mumbai, July 03, 2009 Air India authorities have on Friday warned the employees asking them to refrain from participating in strike. The notice says the staff members participating in strike would face pay cut. Air India's employees on Thursday decided to boycott work for two hours on Friday to protest delay in salary payment. The management warned them of "firm" action if such a situation arose. Blaming the management for "going back on its promise" to disburse salaries by Friday, Aviation Industry Employees Guild (AIEG) leader V J Deka told PTI that the employees will boycott work from 1300 hrs to 1500 hrs.
