Opener ready to replace Strauss if needed England opener Alastair Cook has admitted he is ready to step take over the captaincy should Andrew Strauss be rested for the tour to Bangladesh. Strauss is currently weighing up whether or not to tour the sub-Continent, with the trip sandwiched between the forthcoming series in South Africa and another busy summer of cricket. Cook is currently England's vice-captain and the 24-year-old insists he would relish the chance lead the side out if required.
