Imminent arrival of Scotsman not on caretaker's mind ahead of Preston Middlesbrough caretaker boss Colin Cooper has vowed to get on with his task while the club await the imminent arrival of Gordon Strachan. Strachan was poised to be unveiled as the new boss at the Riverside on Friday after Gareth Southgate was sacked midweek before contract talks hit a snag. With Boro insisting no hitch has taken place, minor negotiations have nonetheless delayed the expected announcement which is now likely to be made on Monday. In the meantime, Cooper will take charge of the Teesside outfit along with Steve Agnew and Stephen Pears as they travel to Preston on Saturday, and he insists their task is simply to get a result.
