Sometimes it's the energy of a different crowd, sometimes it's a new coach. For American distance runner Dathan Ritzenhein, it seems as if switching to the coaching of Alberto Salazar has made a significant impact. As USA TODAY's Dick Patrick outlines in this story, Ritzenhein was worried that his professional running career was going to be marked by a string of middle-of-the-pack finishes, but since switching to Salazar, he broke the national record in the 5k and posting 60 minutes at the world half marathon championship in England over the weekend.
