Hayashi's 67 leads major

Kevin Hayashi of Hilo Municipal fired an opening 3-under-par 67 for a one-shot lead in the Aloha PGA Professional Championship and Stroke Play Championship yesterday at the Honolulu Country Club. John Hearn of KMR School of Golf is second after shooting 68. This is the third major on the Aloha Section PGA calendar. The winner gets a spot in January's Sony Open in Hawai'i and the top two finishers represent the section at the 43rd PGA Professional National Championship next year in French Lick, Ind. Also, Hilo Municipal's Lance Taketa shot 5-under 65 yesterday to lead the Senior PGA Professional Championship at the Honolulu Country Club.
