August 22, 2009 - California League (CalL) Stockton Ports STOCKTON, Calif.- The Stockton Ports (55-69) a 3-1 lead in the second, but were unable to hang on to the small lead against the San Jose Giants (80-44). The Ports lost Game 1 of the three-game set, 4-3 at Banner Island Ballpark on Friday. The Ports collected nine hits-five coming in the second frame-and left 12 runners stranded. Shortstop Dusty Coleman went 3x3 and Jermaine Mitchell collected two hits in the game, while Grant Desme walked three times in the contest. LHP Anthony Capra gave up three runs on eight hits in 5.1 innings of work. Ben Hornbeck picked up the loss for the Ports, giving up the winning run on four hits in 2.0 innings of relief.
