Giants Rally Past Visalia In Series Opener, 9-7

August 19, 2009 - California League (CalL) San Jose Giants Conor Gillaspie hit a two-run double to tie the game in the top of the seventh before Nick Noonan's two-RBI double in the eighth inning put the Giants ahead for good as San Jose posted a 9-7 win over the Visalia Rawhide on Tuesday evening at Recreation Park. In the opener of a six-game road trip, the Giants pounded out 13 hits and relievers Wilmin Rodriguez and Rafael Cova combined for 2 2/3 innings of hitless relief to finish the contest. With the victory, San Jose improves their second half record to 36-15 while maintaining a six-game lead over the Stockton Ports (30-21) for the top spot in the North Division.
