Steve Murphy, KREM.com Kevin Coe's lawyers rested their defense Tuesday morning. The man known as the South Hill Rapist is fighting the state's effort to have him committed to a facility for sexually violent predators. The case ended early after the judge told prospective jurors testimony was supposed to last six weeks. It was over in less than three weeks. Coe's attorneys were going to introduce 1981 testimony from his father, but decided against it. Instead, the last witness was a Coe family friend.
