TI, VirtualLogix partner to launch new software

By David Jones Texas Instruments, a semiconductor company, and VirtualLogix, a provider of virtualization systems, have collaborated to deliver software that introduces control- and management-plane capability to TI digital signal processors targeted for wireless base stations. According to VirtualLogix, the new capability enables base station original equipment manufacturers (OEM) to use TI's new digital signal processors (DSPs) beyond the traditional data-plane functions to create next-generation access network equipment.
