Magnitude-3.4 quake hits near Palm Springs

CABAZON, Calif. — A minor earthquake has shaken the Palm Springs area, but there is are no reports of any damage or injury. The magnitude-3.4 quake struck at 10:39 Sunday night at a depth of about 8 miles according to a preliminary report from the U.S. Geological Survey. It was centered 2 miles northeast of Cabazon and 14 miles west of Palm Springs. A dispatcher from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department says there has been no word of injuries or damages in the area.
