Vandals in SC: "Republican means slavery"

ROCK HILL, S.C. Vandals scrawled the words "Republican means slavery" on the headquarters of the York County Republican Party but black GOP chairman Glenn McCall has no plans to remove the graffiti. "We want to show folks we won't be intimidated," McCall said. "We want to show whoever painted that stuff up there that they don't understand history. The Republican Party came out of the abolitionist movement." The vandals struck sometime overnight on Friday, scrawling the message on the door of the headquarters along with letters and symbols sometimes used by gangs. The vandals also took 45 campaign signs and used spray paint to cover the eyes of Republican presidential candidate John McCain on a large campaign banner.
