By MATTHEW McGOVERN Special Correspondent BROADWAY - Waynesboro looked competitive after gaining an early 6-0 lead over Broadway and holding the Gobblers to 27 yards on their first two drives Friday. But then WHS linebacker Tyler Briggs fell into BHS punter J.D. Veney on a play that would have given Waynesboro possession midway through the first quarter. Briggs drew a flag for roughing the kicker - a call that proved to be the game's turning point. The Little Giants' momentum crashed as he ran into Veney, allowing the Gobblers to resume their drive at the 50-yard line. Broadway quickly resolved its offensive rut and ultimately beat Waynesboro 37-14 in a non-district game.
