Gibbs to speak from the heart at NAACP event

Keynoting the Louisville NAACP's Freedom Fund Banquet this year is TV and film actor Marla Gibbs, best known for her role as Florence the sarcastic maid in the hit sitcom "The Jeffersons." And she will be speaking from the heart, she said in a telephone interview from her Los Angeles home. "I never really prepare anything, giving speeches," said Gibbs, whose other television credits include starring in "227" and appearing in "Cold Case," "The Hughleys" and "ER." "I kind of pick my theme from the audience. And the NAACP has such a great history of helping the downtrodden in communities all across the country.
