Bryant, Brooks reap reward of last week's win

They both had emotional games last Sunday, but they both produced far better than expected. Tampa Bay Buccaneers PK Matt Bryant and LB Derrick Brooks are the NFC Special Teams and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, for Week 4. The National Football League today announced that Tampa Bay Buccaneers LB Derrick Brooks was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week and K Matt Bryant was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 4. Jermaine Phillips and returned 38 yards for a touchdown to give Tampa Bay a 20-7 lead. Brooks has started in 196 consecutive games, the most by an active defensive player, and has amassed 2,104 career tackles.
