Breaking News 7:14am UK, Wednesday August 20, 2008 BAA's "monopoly" on Britain's biggest airports is to be broken up, with two out of Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted set to be sold off. Queues have become a familiar sight at Heathrow The Competition Commission (CC) has found "competition problems" at each of BAA’s seven UK airports - Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Southampton in England, and Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen in Scotland. A provisional report issued by the commission said BAA's ownership of the group was a "principal cause" of problems experienced by passengers using the transport hubs.
