SANTA CRUZ, Calif.- A person died in a head-on collision that prompted two extrications on state Highway 9 along the border of Santa Cruz and Santa Clara counties on Sunday night, according to the CHP.The collision was reported just before 10:30 p.m. and closed state Highway 9 at state Highway 35 for nearly five hours, said CHP Officer Robert Haven.Haven was uncertain about other injuries but said at least one ambulance at the collision left for the hospital.
