New Zealand is right in contention for Olympic medals in sailing off Qingdao. Laser sailor Andrew Murdoch is sixth overall heading into today's medal race, although he considers himself a long shot. He says it has been a frustrating regatta. Murdoch says usually he is very consistent but he has struggled at these Olympics. Jo Aleh in the Laser Radial is seventh so she will also contest the medal race today. Tom Ashley continues to lead the men's board sailing heading into the final preliminary race while Barbara Kendall is seventh overall in the women's competition.
