Delle Donne Will Enroll At Delaware

By JOHN ALTAVILLA | Courant Staff Writer Elena Delle Donne will enroll at the University of Delaware and will not play basketball this season. It is thought she wants to play volleyball as a walk-on, but she did not address that in a statement today. She would have to be released from her scholarship at UConn for that to happen, and UConn coach Geno Auriemma said this morning in an e-mail message to The Courant that Delle Donne has not been granted that release. Delle Donne signed a national letter-of-intent in November and announced Saturday that she would not return to UConn after leaving two days into the summer session in June.
