Time is running out for both presumptive presidential candidates to chose a running mate. Barack Obama and the Democrats host their convention in a week. John McCain and the Republicans go a week later. And, neither man has his running mate. In choosing one, Messiah College Associate Professor of Politics Robin Lauermann says the strategy is to look for a vice president who compliments the candidate, and someone who appeals to the masses. "When you're looking at not only just the national level, but certainly in Pennsylvania, most of the reliable polls that are coming out are showing a very close race in this basis... so it's really about how do you pick apart the middle, and the middle is where the majority of the voters are."
