Naturals Fall To Midland

Jon Zeringue's grand slam in the first inning got Midland going en route to a 13-7 win over Northwest Arkansas in Texas League play Wednesday. Despite the loss, the Naturals maintained a five-game lead in the Texas League North Division over Springfield, The Cardinals lost 6-2 to San Antonio. The RockHounds jumped to an 8-0 lead after two innings, then withstood a six-run ninth by the Naturals for the win. The Naturals Blake Johnson (9-8) took the loss, allowing eight runs (seven earned) on nine hits in four innings of work. Shortstop Adrian Carenas went 4-for-5 for the RockHounds, while Zeringue went just 1-for-4 but scored three times and drove in four runs.
