TROY, N.Y.-The Tri-City ValleyCats were handed a 5-2 loss by the Batavia Muckdogs at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium on Wednesday night. Designated hitter Beau Riportella led the Muckdogs' offense with two hits and two runs scored. Tri-City centerfielder J.B. Shuck gave the ValleyCats a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when he scored from second base on a wild pitch by Batavia starter Miguel Tapia. The ‘Cats added another run in the second on a single by Andy Simunic that scored Danny Meier from third base.
