Jeff shooting suspect charged with attempted murder

The Courier-Journal • August 12, 2008 A Jeffersonville man faces attempted murder and other charges for allegedly firing three shotgun blasts that wounded another man driving by his apartment in the city’s Mayfair complex, police said. John W. Moore, 53, was taken into custody about 2 a.m. today after a SWAT team converged on the complex. Moore surrendered without incident, said Jeffersonville Police Detective Brian Mitchell. The wounded man, Jamil Roberts, 20, of Charlestown, was in fair condition today at University Hospital in Louisville. Mitchell said police had received a complaint alleging erratic behavior by Moore several weeks ago when a taxi driver claimed that Moore had been following him and making a video.
