2 women arrested in honeymoon killings

ST. JOHN'S, Antigua and Barbuda, Aug. 15 (UPI) -- Two women have been charged in Antigua with being involved in killing a honeymooning British couple during an apparent botched robbery. During an appearance in magistrate's court Thursday, the women were charged with "offenses connected to the murders," the Antigua Sun reported. They were ordered held without bail. Antigua police refused to give details about the arrests or the progress of the investigation. The British newspaper, The Independent, suggested the suspects had been linked to items stolen from the victims. Catherine Bowen and Benjamin Mullany, both 31, were on the last night of their honeymoon when someone broke into their cottage at the Cocos Hotel, apparently as they slept.
