Inverness Medical gets USDA approval for flu test

WALTHAM, Mass. - Inverness Medical Innovations Inc. said Monday the U.S. Department of Agriculture issued the medical diagnostics company a license to make and sell its avian flu test kit for veterinary use. The kit called BinaxNOW, gives test results within 15 minutes, compared with traditional methods which can take days.
