Story by Veronica Goad HINTON- -- Summers County will be honoring a Red Cross volunteer, Friday. The American Red Cross honors volunteers who help their communities. They call them hometown heros. The award is a way for the Red Cross to give back to the people who help them but it's also a way to help the organization regain some of the ground they've lost, as donations are down.
