Dunkin' Donuts plots Miss. move

First store to open this year By Jeff Ayres • jeff.ayres@jackson.gannett.com • July 26, 2008 Looking to increase its presence in the South, Dunkin' Donuts announced Friday it will open 34 stores in Mississippi during the next six years. The first is scheduled to open in Greenwood by November. Eight stores, including two in the Jackson area, are slated to open in the next 12 months. "In order to have a presence, you need more than one location," said Joe Sherman, CEO of Capital Franchise Group, which will oversee the Mississippi stores. Stores are planned for Jackson, Greenwood, Tupelo and areas in southwest Mississippi. The doughnut chain had a location on High Street in Jackson that closed in the last decade.
