Charles Returns To The Polo Field Almost three years after a bad back and age forced him to quit the sport he referred to as "my one great extravagance", the Prince of Wales is to return to the polo field this weekend. Not that we’ll be seeing any chukkas from Charles. Despite the event being closely associated with the Queen, who normally presents the prizes, Sunday’s Cartier International Polo competition will see her son handing out the silverware to the winners. Speaking to former royal correspondent Richard Kay, the Chief Executive of Guard Polo Club in Windsor says of the upcoming no-show from Her Majesty: "She has passed on the mantle to the Prince of Wales and he will be taking over the role from now on."
