Top-seeded Stepanek advances at Nottingham

NOTTINGHAM, England -- Top-seeded Radek Stepanek beat John Isner of the United States 6-3, 6-2 Tuesday to advance to the second round of the Wimbledon tune-up tournament at Nottingham. Fifth-seeded Gilles Simon of France beat American Donald Young 6-1, 6-4. In other first-round matches, Thomas Johansson of Sweden also went through after qualifier Kei Nishikori of Japan retired after losing the first set 7-5.
