Kavango Leaders Unhappy With Crossing Points

Posted to the web 13 October 2008 Petronella Sibeene Windhoek Traditional leaders in the Kavango Region have expressed dissa-tisfaction with the Government's identified crossing points for Namibians to enter neighbouring Angola. Traditional authorities vowed not to support the effort until changes are made to the drawn and identified crossing points. Of late, Namibia and Angola have been organising the issuance of border resident cards and crossing passes for Namibians and Angolans in the Kavango area. Such documents are to be issued to those who have for the past five years lived within the 20-kilometre radius from the borderline.
