Visteon Honors Flint H.S. Senior With NABAS Scholarship Award

Tarik Everett, a senior at Flint Central Academy, was named Visteon
Scholar at the National Association of Black Automotive Suppliers'
(NABAS) 20th Annual Scholarship Awards Banquet at the Renaissance
Center in Detroit, Mich.
Henry S. Martin Jr., associate director of Visteon's supplier diversity
development program, presented the $22,500 scholarship award to Tarik.
This is the fourth year Visteon has supported the NABAS Scholarship
Fund.
"Tarik is an impressive young man," said Martin, "not only is he top of
his class, but his focused on extra curricular and community
activities."
Tarik is involved in National Honor Society, student council, student
senate, varsity tennis, Alpha Esquires Mentoring and Youth Leadership
Program, various service projects through Greater Flint Youth
Leadership Program and is a volunteer at Neithercut Elementary School.
NABAS serves as a communication link between black-owned automotive
suppliers and automotive manufacturers. The organization facilitates a
scholarship fund, provides seminars and supports networking
opportunities for its members. NABAS has offices in Detroit and
Montgomery, Ala.
"Being part of the NABAS program reinforces our company's commitment to
diversity. It is an honor to contribute to, and invest in, the future
automotive careers of promising young people such as Tarik."
Visteon Corp. is a global automotive supplier that designs, engineers
and manufactures climate, interior, electronic and lighting products
for vehicle manufacturers, and also provides a range of products and
services to aftermarket customers.
