The tragic death of Brian HoSang - son of Vincent and Jeanette HoSang, owners and founders of Caribbean Food Delights, Royal Caribbean Bakery and JerkQ'zine Caribbean Grille - stunned New York's Caribbean community last week.
The 24-year-old was killed on Mother's Day in upstate Putnam County when he apparently lost control of his motorcycle on Interstate 684. He was recently appointed the manager of the Mount Vernon JerkQ'zine Caribbean Grille.
"Brian did what he wanted to do; he accomplished everything in life without fear and never allowed anything to stop him from achieving his goals," said Brian's older sister, Sabrina HoSang, chief operating officer of Caribbean Food Delights.
There will be two viewings for Brian HoSang - the first at the First United Methodist Church, 227 E. Lincoln Ave. in Mount Vernon, Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and the second at the Hillside Church, 448 Bedford Road in Armonk, N.Y., from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. The funeral service will follow the Saturday viewing.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Vincent HoSang Family Foundation, which will establish scholarships in Brian's name. Checks can be sent to Caribbean Food Delights at 117 Route 303, Suite B, Tappan, N.Y., 10983. The memorial Web site for Brian HoSang is at: http://brian-hosang.memory-of.com.
