Gay marriage not a threat

I applaud the decision of the California Supreme Court to recognize the right of gay and lesbian couples to marry. As an active member of the LDS Church, I am greatly disappointed that the church continues to look at gay marriage as a threat to the institution of marriage. Increasingly, those of us who have family members who are gay wonder when the LDS Church will assess the real impact of monogamous gay relationships as a healthy and viable alternative that is not in conflict with God's revelations. We value our membership in the LDS Church, but we also know and love our family members and pray that a more Christian instead of political decision will be made.
