The man who was shot last week by a Douglas County sheriff's deputy at an Omaha hotel has been arrested following his release from the hospital.
Jason Galle appeared in court Friday on charges that included assaulting an officer, attempted first-degree assault and second-degree assault.
According to police, Galle and Dana McCoy stole a purse from an Omaha church, then used information in the purse to book a hotel room. Investigators say Galle and McCoy headed to another room where officers found ID-making equipment and meth.
Police have said a Douglas County deputy shot the 32-year-old Galle after Galle hit him with a vase.
McCoy and three others also face charges.
Police said the incident at the hotel helped uncover an identity theft ring.
