Media Advisory - Giddy Up for Wishes arrives in Manitoba to collect wishes
3,500 km adventure through four provinces to raise funds for The

WHAT: Giddy Up for Wishes founder Martha Birkett will be arriving in
Manitoba on Saturday May 17 and riding through communities
along the Trans Canada Highway, as part of her 3,500 km
horseback fundraising journey, in support of The Children's
Wish Foundation of Canada. Martha's journey through Manitoba is
expected to take 14 days.
Martha's adventure, which began in Ottawa on March 30, will
take her through four provinces and more than 100 cities, towns
and communities over a three-month period. Averaging
approximately 50 km per day on the Trans Canada Highway,
Martha's journey, in support of helping grant wishes to
children, will culminate in July at the Calgary Stampede.

BACKGROUND:
Established in 1984, The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada is a
national non-profit organization dedicated to fulfilling a favorite wish for
children diagnosed with high-risk, life-threatening illnesses. Since its
inception, Children's Wish has granted close to 14,000 wishes for children and
