Employers body IBEC has welcomed today's Irish Times TNS/MRBI Lisbon Treaty poll which showed a nine-point gain for the Yes vote.

The group warned however that those campaigning for a Yes vote in next month's Lisbon Treaty referendum must make sure their message gets to voters.

The poll, published in today's Irish Times newspaper, now puts the Yes vote at a two to one majority.

Almost half of people questioned about the Lisbon Treaty say they are undecided however, and 18% say they will vote against the proposals.

IBEC says Europe has been good to Ireland and has played a key role in the country's prosperity.

"The more people become aware of the facts of the treaty the more they see through the myths of the no campaign and know that Ireland's prosperity is secured in a Europe that works better," said IBEC director of EU and international affairs Brendan Butler.
