A former licensed practical nurse from Waverly has pleaded no contest to possession of a controlled substance.

Prosecutors say 50-year-old Jacqueline "Jacki" Spoor stole powerful pain killers meant for patients.

In exchange for her plea, Lancaster County prosecutors dismissed two other charges and agreed not to file additional charges in the incident.

Sheriff's deputies say they were called to Spoor's home in September, where they found Spoor had overdosed on morphine she'd taken while working as a nurse at Milder Manor in Lincoln.

Investigators say they found syringes with liquids in them and blister packs with pills in them that Spoor had taken from various nursing jobs.

Spoor's sentencing is set for July 24th. Her nursing license was revoked in February.
