Daily 3PM: What DID Chelsea do with the FA Cup?

Kevin Williams, the silversmith charged with restoring the FA Cup ahead of its presentation tomorrow, reckons the old pot took a battering during the year it spent with holders Chelsea.

He even went as far as to jokingly blame former Blues boss Jose Mourinho, quipping, “I think he must have taken out his anguish over leaving on the cup”.

Ho, and indeed, ho.

But what did Chelsea get up to with the trophy to leave it in such a shoddy state? Here’s our top theories:

1) Diminutive winger Shaun Wright Phillips filled the Cup with water and used it as a swimming pool

2) Avram ‘Harold Steptoe’ Grant tried to flog it from the back of his rag and bone cart

3) Petr Cech used the Cup as temporary head guard

4) One of the cleaners brushed past Didier Drogba and he fell on it.

5) Cheryl Cole bashed errant hubby Ashley over the head with it after another of his nights out.

6) Jose Mourinho’s dog mistook the Cup for bone and tried to bury it.

7) John Terry got caught short in the trophy room and urinated in it.

8) Michael Ballack used the Cup to reserve the best sun-lounger at the local lido

9) Reserve keeper Hilario took the Cup out for a quick look and dropped it

10) QPR took it out on loan to help with their promotion bid
