To provide businesses with secure, high-quality voice and data communications between branch offices, remote users and headquarters locations, Edgewater Networks (News - Alert), Inc., today unveiled its “EdgeMarc VoIP VPN
Network Services Gateways,” a technology that’s compliant with key Internet protocol telephony solutions from Avaya (News - Alert).
Edgewater Networks, Inc. is a member of the Avaya DevConnect program. Under its new program, the company will develop, market and sell innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology and extend the value of a company’s investment in its network.
Edgewater officials say businesses can simplify their office connectivity, enable secure, high-quality voice and reduce problem resolution times through remote monitoring and troubleshooting capabilities, with the help of the new VoIP
VPN solution.
The VoIP VPN appliance comes with features such as a packet inspection firewall, VoIP prioritization, traffic shaping, passive call quality monitoring, a managed Ethernet switch, and an all-in-one access gateway with T1 CSU/DSU or Ethernet WAN
.
The EdgeMarc VoIP VPN is a part of a complete solution from Edgewater Networks that includes EdgeConnect Power Over Ethernet (PoE) switches and the EdgeView VoIP Support and Reporting systems. Easy to use and ideal for converged voice and data networks, the company says its EdgeConnect PoE switches offer the quality of service (QoS
) in the Local Area Network needed to ensure high voice quality. The EdgeView VoIP Support System simplifies the troubleshooting of voice quality problems.
Company officials said that EdgeMarc VoIP VPN Network Services Gateway (News - Alert) has successfully completed compliance testing with Avaya Communication Manager Release 4.0 and Avaya IP
Office release 4.1.9. As a member of Avaya DevConnect (News - Alert) program, Edgewater can submit products for compatibility testing by the Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab in Lincroft, New Jersey. The product is then tested by a team of Avaya engineers by developing a comprehensive test plan for each application to verify whether it’s Avaya compliant.
“We are very pleased to be rated compliant with Avaya IP telephony solutions,” said Dave G. Norman, chief Executive officer of Edgewater. “The EdgeMarc VoIP VPN is a great complement to new and existing Avaya installations and helps businesses get more out of their communications solution by delivering high-quality voice and providing remote troubleshooting and diagnostic tools.”
