The mother of a murdered teen revisited the scene of a brutal crime on Thursday night, knocking on doors with police in hopes of finding a lead in the killing of her 16-year-old son.
Mahamed Warsame was found beaten to death in the stairwell of an apartment complex on Courgar Court two weeks ago.
"I'm trying to be strong," said grieving mom, Ayan Dahir. "We're still looking (for the people) who did this. He was only 16. He didn't deserve to die like that."
"We're looking at reaching out to every tenant in the building, asking them whether or not they recognize Mr. Warsame for being here, or the clothing that he was wearing that day," added Det. Wayne Banks.
Police aren't sure why the teen was in the building or how he became a target. Last month, 22-year-old Ricardo Kelly was also found dead in the high-rise but detectives don't believe the murders are linked.
