Marcello Puglisi has been called up the Durango line-up for the next round of the GP2 Series in Monaco.
Puglisi, who contested the GP2 Asia Series for Piquet Sports and will compete in Formula Master during the 'regular' season, will take the place of Davide Valsecchi following his shunt during qualifying in the last round of the campaign in Turkey.
Valsecchi went off at high speed at the end of the back straight late in the session and has now been advised by doctors to rest, although he should be fit to return in time for Magny-Cours.
"I am sorry to miss the Monaco event but the doctors convinced me that is better to be a little bit more patient," he said. "This is to be sure of avoiding any kind of problems in the future. So I give my car to a good driver and a dear friend but just for this time. From Magny Cours on I will be back in the cockpit."
Puglisi himself said he would be doing his best to secure a good result for the team on the streets of Monte Carlo but said he wouldn't let his outing in the car take attention away from his main programme for the year.
"I am sorry for my friend Davide, but in Monaco I will try to bring his car in the best possible position," he said. "I know that it will not be easy but I am quite confident in myself and in Durango potential. Then I will totally concentrate on the Formula Master which is my main program this year."
