Fire consumes mobile home
09:05 PM EDT on Tuesday, May 13, 2008
CHESAPEAKE -- A fire destroyed a mobile home Tuesday evening.
The fire broke out at a mobile home on the 270 block of Ike Street on Route 17, according to Capt. Steve Johnson of the Chesapeake Fire Department.
He adds the preliminary reports indicate the residents left an unattended candle burning when they left the house, and that started the fire.
Despite three mobile homes nearby, firefighters were able to prevent the fire from spreading.
No one was injured.
The Red Cross provided the family of four displaced by the fire with food and clothing assistance.> View Larger Map
