BEAVERTON, Ore. - A six-month-old baby was taken from an apartment where police said they found remnants of a meth lab and two guns during a raid Tuesday morning.

KGW report on meth raid

The baby’s mother and father, Viviana Ruiz Galindo, 19, and Jose Luis Avelino-Sanchez, 22, were arrested. The baby was taken to Legacy Emanuel Hospital to be examined for possible drug-related health problems.

Police wearing protective white suits collected evidence at the scene Tuesday, including scales, a small lab that was not operational, packaging and two hand guns in the home. They said there was also equipment with traces of meth in it, that could be used to make up to 7 pounds of meth.

The apartment is located at 6155 SW King Rd. in Beaverton.

Police have not said exactly how they narrowed it down to that location for the meth raid.
